Marcus Reynolds, a signed artiste to Rath trombones, has been a professional brass player and teacher since his musical training at the Royal Military School of Music at Knelller Hall.
He worked for Surrey County Council and other nearby private schools for 12 years, whilst developing his reputation as a professional performer on the trombone. His engagements have included stints with NYJO, voyages on the QE2, appearing in ‘Chicago’ in the West End and numerous Radio and TV sessions. He has played with and is recognised by the very best players in the UK.
Following a serious stage accident that led to major reconstructive surgery, he had to battle to learn to play again. This struggle has given him the insight he brings to coaching his students, from beginners to seasoned professionals. His battle to overcome adversity led him to develop widely acclaimed the STRATOS embouchure training system.
Marcus now gives lectures and clinics on his approach to brass playing.
Most recently he has talked at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama for the British Trombone Society, and also a day workshop for Warwick County Music Service.
“On behalf of Warwick County Music Service may I extend to you a most sincere thank you for your recent clinic…the sessions were extremely well received and appreciated by the entire brass team… there was not one negative comment, which in my experience is unprecedented!”
